Welcome from the President

Welcome to the front page of the MIT Interfraternity Council website!

While MIT offers various unique opportunities and experiences that distinguish the Institute from other universities across the nation, one of the many advantages that MIT offers is the possibility to join one of the nation's best Greek communities.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is home to 27 fraternity chapters with over 1,100 total members: over 25% of the total undergraduate population. Our members come from every imaginable background and celebrate their own religions, cultures, and identities, but are united in continuous pursuit of character, scholarship, leadership, service and brotherhood. We pride ourselves on setting an example for all of MIT to follow: every year, fraternity men captain varsity sports, are elected to the highest leadership roles in student government, perform cutting-edge research, dedicate thousands of hours to community service, lead organizations across campus, compile impressive GPAs, and upon graduation, take the first step towards vibrant careers at some of the most prestigious institutions worldwide. Most importantly, Greek life provides the opportunity to establish bonds with the most dedicated, talented, and diverse people on campus, bonds that will truly last a lifetime.

If you have any questions about Greek Life and the fraternity experience at MIT, please feel free to look over our website. If you still have any unanswered questions, contact me at ifc-president@mit.edu.

Thanks for a Successful Rush 2013!

Rush week took place between Saturday, August 31, starting off with the Kresge Kickoff, and lasted until the end of the first week of classes. This year, we had 330 new members by the end of Rush, constituting more than half of the incoming freshman class.

Please note that Rush takes place throughout the year and there are many fraternities still looking for new members.

Please feel free to email ifc-rushchair@mit.edu or
ifc-exec@mit.edu with any questions!
